Planning Engineer Mechanical

To strengthen our team at Woodsmith Mine in Whitby, North Yorkshire, we are currently looking for a Planning Engineer Mechanical.

Develop design solutions to engineering and other field related issues that arise from the execution of project installation activities.
Provide timely and complete resolution to technical questions and other requests for information.
Maintain Project As-Built drawings.
Ensure compliance with job specifications.
Prepare technical assignments for the purchase or fabrication of mechanical equipment and materials.
Ensuring that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements by preparing mechanical systems specifications, technical drawings, or topographical maps.
Establishing construction, manufacturing, or installation standards or specifications by performing a wide range of detailed calculations.
Development of initial data and technical specifications for the design of mining and mechanical sections.
Development of design documentation, assemblies, mechanisms for vertical and horizontal drifts.
Performance of static calculations of mining-mechanical parts (SolidWorks, Autodesk Invertor).
Compiling technical projects on non-standard equipment.
3D design and visualization of technological equipment and metal structures.
Calculation and design of welded and bolted joints.
Knowledge of and experience with EN, DIN etc. requirements for the design of mining and mechanical parts.

Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Data analytics skills and experience.
Attention to detail.
Flexible thinking, including the ability to pivot and try new approaches when faced with challenges.
Experience using System Applications and Products (SAP) software.
Experience using computer-aided design (CAD) platforms.
Experience using SolidWorks, Autodesk Invertor.

Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Mining Engineering or Civil Engineering.
Post-graduate qualification preferred.
Chartered Engineer status or the willingness to obtain.
3 years relevant work experience.
Fluent English speaker.
The ability to speak another language or the willingness to do so.
